BIOGRAPHY

I was born in Southern Californian, in 1938 and educated in the public school system.I have been interested in art, from a very young age. In the fall of 1963 I began formal art instructions at the Pasadena Museum of Art. My commitment continued until I received a Masters of Art Degree from California State University at Los Angeles in 1973. From 1973 through 1984, I painted and exhibited abstract art in several local galleries and museums in Southern California. During this period I was a founding member of a cooperative gallery in Pasadena. This venture ran successfully for four years. After this period, I took a hiatus from art to evaluate my aesthetic position in relation to the art community.

Early in 1990 I resumed my study of art with renewed dedication. I made a fundamental shift in aesthetics to a type of Plein Aire painting using Acrylic paints.I chose Acrylics because of the ease of application and the new innovations in color technology. Since1990 I have completed workshops with prominent landscape artists at Scottsdale Artists School and attended weekly studio classes under Martha Saudek, for a period of four years.

Subsequent to my move to the Central Coast of California, I became a member of the following art groups: National Artist Equity Assoc.,Pajaro Valley Arts Council, and The Santa Cruz Art League. My work was recently juried into the Napa Valley Museum. Art galleries that represent me are in Pacific Grove, Palo Alto, Moss landing and Sacramento, California
